I don't know much about body-building, but in my particular case, eating a heavy meal for the first meal of my day slows me down. I rarely eat breakfast, but then again I usually keep what most would consider odd hours, so my breakfast time is usually what many would consider their bedtime, or maybe perhaps their dinner time, depending on the hours they keep.
If I have an appointment early in the morning, however, I will forego breakfast, just have a cup of coffee, go and tend to the business of the morning and eat when I come back home. If I don't, I'll feel lethargic and groggy when I'm out and about. I feel a lot better when my dinner is the heaviest meal.
