I can't thank you enough for that link. I have a very difficult time finding bras in my size, let alone a decent sports bra. The Last Resort bra is perfect for me. I shy away from any time of high impact cardio because of the bouncing. Not only is it a bit uncomfortable, the stares and glares from men are horrible.Well, don't take my advice from experience (I have the breasts of an 18 year old who's had 2 kids and twice as much living ) but, there are some really, really good sports bras out there that should eliminate that worry for you. If you want the best, check out the Title Nine website Sports bras, yoga clothing, womens sportswear, athletic apparel - Title Nine A good sports bra and tightening the chest muscles while jumping rope will keep the girls from bouncing, and jumping rope really is a terrific exercise. I especially like it because you can get a high intensity workout in a relatively short amount of time.
I can't imagine jumping for an hour straight. Yikes.Jumping rope is a great way to burn calories. If you were to jump rope for an hour, depending on your metabolism you could burn between 600 to 1000 calories.
I do love jumping rope, but I'm out of breath long before then, even with "cooling" breaks where I slow down or do some stretches and such instead. An hour is just so long.
Do you play with your food? I certainly do. Quirky Cookery
I really wish that my knee would take it. After having a knee replacement done, it is hard for me to jump anymore without any pain. I used to jump rope and really enjoyed it. I know that it is excellent exercise and a great cardio exercise. Maybe I can try jumping on one leg and get a good cardio exercise out of it. Thanks for sharing these tips. These are great reasons to jump rope and an excellent form of exercise.
I have never really tried to jump rope since I graduated school. I am not that great at it, but I suppose that will come with practive. There is no denying that jump ropes are cheap, and it seems like there are plenty of physcial benfits to it. Based on this thread alone, I am going to pick up a jump rope at the store this week and start trying it out.
This is one very good exercise we can easily do at home. Just getting the rope and with a good shoes then we are ready to go. I think it is really time that we go back to those simple and cheap techniques we can do at home or anywhere. I am sure that if we do jump rope regularly, it can really be of big help for our health.

I am going to pick up a rope soon. I know that jumping rope is a good exercise and builds stamina. I understand that boxers use it in their training. I agree that a great sports bra works wonders. It can be uncomfortable to be jiggly when you are trying to be active.
I think jumping rope is one of the best and most complete exercises. It's true, it strengthens your whole body, not just legs. In my opinion is one of best calorie-scorcher and one of the most demanding cardio rutines. It's really useful for those people who workout in the gym and don't make any cardio.
Jumping rope is an excellent exercise as are Jumping Jacks. I am working on getting my weight down first. For now, I run in place and do the stationary bike. I would love to be able to skip rope again, but I find that I cannot jump well and my balance is not that good. I look forward to having the agility and coordination necessary for jumping rope.
