I guess I agree. I think eating a salad before a meal is definitely a good thing and it can help you cut calories.
If I want to lose weight I go on a low to zero carbohydrate diet which means I can eat pretty much as much as I like of anything else. I tend to fill my plate with vegetables with only a small portion of meat which works for me. I drink water throughout the day so my stomach feels full anyway. Some people can feel hungry when in fact they are just thirsty. Drinking a glass of water before a meal I think is a good idea so that you don't overeat, but eating a plateful of vegetables before a meal leaves me thinking what then do you have for your meal?
