Police say a Cocoa Beach woman was drunk when she plowed her pickup into four people and five campers inside the Daytona International Speedway infield early Saturday morning.

Daytona Beach police said Abbie Kinney, 43, failed several field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer found she was more than two times the legal limit.

Witnesses said Kinney was driving through the infield at about 40 mph, continuing to drive despite hitting campers.

After she was read her Miranda rights Kinney allegedly told officers: “I shouldn’t have been driving” and admitted consuming three beers.

Kinney is charged with DUI causing injury, careless driving and several counts of property damage.
