I prefer eating tuna and salmon because they are good source of healthy fatty acids. Is there any overdose side effects of fish oil supplements recorded?
Carlson lemon Flavor Cod Liver Oil is great! That's what I take. I've poured it on salad before and it's not half bad, but normally I just take a spoonful of it.
If you take the pill-form and want to avoid "fish burps", I've heard that freezing the pills can help.
I take Krill oil capsules. They stink in the bottle, but you can't taste them and they don't make you burp later. The omega oils in krill oil are supposed to be better utilized by the body. I used to take fish oil and experienced the bad aftertaste only when I bought cheap quality fish oil. I noticed a big difference between brands.
For those that mentioned the bleeding effects of fish oil, I can attest to that. I once had some dental work done and they had to stop due to excessive bleeding and were concerned that I was taking a blood thinner. I stopped taking the fish oil for a couple of weeks so I could return and let them finish.

I totally agree with this^^ I just think "fish oil" sounds awful. For those of you who take it, even in capsule form, does it cause any fishy aftertaste? Fishy breath? The thought of fish oil just turns my stomach, so I do not take any. I have not heard about that study involving children with adhd though, sorry. But for those who take fish oil, is eating certain fish, say Salmon, another way to get some of the health benefits of fish oil? I sure hope so, because I just don't think I could ever manage to take that stuff straight.
Never trust a girl who would do this to her male bulldog
I think fish oil is considered as generally safe for as long as you don't get above the limit. However, as in anything, we should get more information and should consult our healthcare provider before embarking on any supplementation though it is the right of anybody not to. To make things clear and balanced, we can study more of this with this link. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that large doses fish oil may increase the risk of bleeding, even in people with no history of bleeding disorders. It can also produce gas, bloating, belching and diarrhea. The benefits seem to outweigh its side effects, though.
